The presentation is by Tristan Hugh Jones who is a Director of the Loch Ryan Oyster Fishery Company and also an Oyster Farmer. * Friday 25 th August 2023 * Details Our Summer Meeting will be held on Friday 25 th 2023 at 7.30pm through the use of Zoom. The presentation by author Jerry Brannigan, who lives in Glasgow and is a Burns enthusiast, is entitled " Beatrice Clugston and her links to Wigtownshire ". Several of her relatives were office bearers of the Association in the 1820’s. Beatrice Clugston set up a hospital for incurables, a forerunner of the modern Hospice movement. Cala Homes chose the name Beatrice Meadows for the housing developments in the grounds of Broomhill Hospital, one of Beatrice’s great achievements - the image shows a tree and plaque to commemorate Beatrice.
