Our Summer Meeting will be held on Friday 25th 2023 at 7.30pm through the use of Zoom.
The presentation by author Jerry Brannigan, who lives in Glasgow and is a Burns enthusiast, is entitled "Beatrice Clugston and her links to Wigtownshire". Several of her relatives were office bearers of the Association in the 1820’s. Beatrice Clugston set up a hospital for incurables, a forerunner of the modern Hospice movement. Cala Homes chose the name Beatrice Meadows for the housing developments in the grounds of Broomhill Hospital, one of Beatrice’s great achievements - the image shows a tree and plaque to commemorate Beatrice.

The presentation is by Tristan Hugh Jones who is a Director of the Loch Ryan Oyster Fishery Company and also an Oyster Farmer.
