Formed in 1791, the Association provides financial support for charitable, benevolent or educational purposes associated with Galloway, and encourages a love for and interest in Galloway. Explore these pages to learn about the Association and its charitable objectives, to apply for Funding, and to discover how to share our love of Galloway and its people (Gallovidians).
The Trustees continue to meet every two months, when they review the Association’s financial health, and consider the Applications for Funding that have been submitted.

The 2024 Autumn Winter Meeting was held on Saturday 2nd November when Tristan Hugh Jones gave an illustrated presentation about The Loch Ryan Oyster Beds and The Stranraer Oyster Festival.
The 2024 Annual Dinner was held on Saturday 12th October at Creebridge House Hotel. The guest speakers included Fraser Sanderson, Katie Hagmann and Fraser Hunter.
The 2024 Spring Outing was held on Friday 10th May, with a guided tour of the Highland Cattle in their fields around High Airyolland Farm near New Luce, followed by afternoon tea in the Auld Byre.
The 2024 AGM was held on Saturday 9th March, when Glasgow Tour Guide Su Pollock gave an illustrated presentation explaining the evolution of Glasgow including the Glasgow Merchants.
